The Beaver Builder Updates Are INSANE–At a Cost

"In that I absolutely HATE the name "Beaver Builder" I opted for the "Agency" version, just for the "white labeling" which allows you to rename the "interface" to your "brand" for clients."

I am a HUGE Beaver Builder fan. For those who do not know, Beaver Builder is a page builder for WordPress. It's the builder that I use on Cheydes of Black. It is the simplest, most versatile, no frills page builder I've ever used.

Back when I first purchased it, the price was pretty reasonable. In that I absolutely HATE the name "Beaver Builder" I opted for the "Agency" version, just for the "white labeling" which allows you to rename the "interface" to your "brand" for clients. I think they branded their products with that name on purpose just so people opt for the upgrade. I didn't want to have to look at "Beaver" in the backend interface of WordPress every time I posted. (Yeah, I'm weird that way.)

I figured I'd purchase it, use it for a year with free updates, then neglect to update it when my subscription expired until I absolutely had to--two, three years, ...brings down the "price per year" if I neglect the updates.

Well...

I opted in for the "Power Pack" upgrade each year also which was a $50 annual fee, so I kept upgrading the Power Pack module each year considering the price.

However, at some point a few weeks ago, I could no longer post anything from the Power Pack module, troubleshot everything, PHP version upgrades, pretty much everything, and the only solution was to upgrade Beaver Builder to get the Power Pack plugin working again at a huge hit to the pocketbook to resolve. Lesson learned.

But at some point, your WordPress version is going to cause conflicts as well, so if you go with my approach to this, you need to keep your upgrades on the down low and match them all.

With that said, upgrading to the latest version of Beaver Builder was a HUGE playground of options. I haven't even begun to explore them all. There's literally an option for everything.

Moving forward, I'll let my Power Pack subscription expire when my Beaver Builder Agency version expires and see how it goes.

It will then come down to WordPress version vs. Beaver Builder/Power Pack.
